About Sarah Cayrafourcq
Sarah works with the human dynamics in organizations to help clients manage complex change processes and develop more sustainable systems and strategies.
Sarah has substantial experience of consulting to clients worldwide, ranging from Fortune 500 companies and technology startups to international organizations and EU institutions. Since she founded Prospero in 1999, she has consulted, together with her partners, to more than 100 projects and programs around the world. Before founding Prospero, Sarah held a range of strategic communications roles in Brussels, serving trade associations and advocacy groups in both agriculture and healthcare.
Sarah's sector expertise crosses the boundary between the established life sciences and emerging green technologies. Sarah has consulted to major organizational change and stakeholder engagement programs, using insights from systems analysis, behavioural science and psychoanalytics to support the development of more sustainable strategies and more authentic and effective communications. She has directed system-wide participatory research programs, both internationally and globally, to generate new knowledge that has helped agribusinesses transform their institutional relations, consolidate their corporate identities, and align their brand values with the demands of cultural diversity. Sarah has also worked at board level in a range of consultative roles, facilitating the renewal of strategy, enabling the reconfiguration of governance structures, and consulting to post-restructuring and M&A integration.
Sarah works in four languages and has served clients on six continents. A deep respect for the difficulties of cross-cultural dialogue informs her consultancy to multinational companies and international organizations. Sarah won a Gold Quill Award for Multicultural Communications, which is bestowed annually by IABC (the International Association of Business Communicators) in recognition of outstanding work that has enhanced the reputation of the field and delivered proven, exceptional value to clients.
Sarah's clinical training is in Psychoanalytic Organizational Consultancy, completed at Master's level and with Distinction at the Tavistock Clinic in London. She is a graduate of the University of Oxford, where she completed a Master of Letters funded by the British Academy for the Humanities and Social Sciences. Her first degree is a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, awarded with First Class Honours by the University of Bristol.
Sarah is a Senior Member of St Hilda's College, Oxford, and a Fellow of the RSA (Royal Society for the Arts, Manufactures and Commerce). She is also a Member of ISPSO (International Society for the Psychoanalytic Study of Organizations), OPUS (Organisation for Promoting Understanding of Society) and the A.K. Rice Institute for the Study of Social Systems.
